Blood pressure going up and on medication but worried bout the medication.?

i am 36 weeks preg and I have been having blood pressure problems for the last couple of weeks. the doctor put me on medication for the blood pressure but i have been really unwell, bleeding noses, blood in my spew (sorry), my swelling has become worse. they want to try and get me to 38 weeks but what are my chances?
