Can i apply for a second semester course (university) ?

Will i be accepted into a UWA for a second semester course if i leave my science course at Notre Dame (hence failing it, and it is definitely not the course for me) ?? My ATAR was in the mid 80s and I meet the english requirements and all the pre requisites for the new course i want to apply for. The new course i want to apply for is completely different to the one i am doing now. I only want to leave so i can work off the fees for the wasted semester in the lead up to the new course, can i do this, or do i have to stick out the course until the end?? :(
