BSN to Medical School?

Medical School admissions says you just need a bachelors degree, and the pre requisites done. They SAY your major doesn't matter. So if I will have the pre preqs done and have a major in Nursing, would that be ok for medical school? I heard that medical schools "look down" upon nursing degrees... But it would be a good part time job to earn money to pay through medical school! What do you think?? BSN or just BS in Chemistry? (I do prefer Chemistry over Bio) Or maybe I could double major? Would double majoring take more time?
