Can I take classes at a community college over the summer when I'm still in high school?

I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm going to be a junior in the fall. I was interested in taking general requisite classes at a local community college this summer and next summer so I have less to take after high school. I'm in upstate new York if that has any possible relevance haha and I'm a pretty good student. Is this possible, and would it probably be cost efficient in the long run? also, I know it varies but how much might this most likely cost? thanks!
