I am a Nurse with a Bachelors Degree and want to become a Physician Assistant, what should i do next.?

Nurse to PA, How does it work? what type of pre-requisite classes do i need to take (if any) and how long is the PA program. Is my Bachelors in Nursing adequate or do I need another health science degree. I also have 4yrs experience as a Medical Assistant, will that count? What is the starting salary for a PA-C who just graduated and is working in a private practice and or in the hospital? Are PA's on call at a hospital or clinic? Is the transition a good and rewarding one. I really need some advise on this decision....Please help.
