How much money does an astronomer with a doctorate in physics and astronomy make?

granted im not doing it just for the money i truly do love science but i just want to make that if i go all the way with this that i will be able to maintain a stable life style and a stable income. I'm currently in junior college and im taking pre-requisite classes to the advanced classes that ill be taking when i transfer over to which ever university i choose but i just want to know if this is a stable career choice before i go to far into it.
